TRANSFORMING PAIN INTO PURPOSE ~ ADVOCATING FOR THOSE WHO CARE FOR OTHERS
Tammy Scott is a nurse, advocate, speaker, and coach dedicated to advancing healthcare worker safety, healing, and systemic change. After nearly two decades as an emergency nurse, Tammy spent her career caring for others through some of the most difficult moments of their lives until her own life changed forever on July 11th, 2022, when she survived a brutal workplace attack while working in the emergency department.

During the assault, Tammy was stabbed multiple times, suffering life-threatening injuries, including damage to her external carotid artery and the severing of her right facial nerve, which left the right side of her face partially paralyzed. The attack not only altered her physically but also forced her to navigate profound emotional, professional, and spiritual challenges in the years that followed.
What began as a fight for survival ultimately became a journey of transformation. Rather than allowing trauma to define her future, Tammy chose to transform her pain into purpose, becoming a voice for healthcare professionals impacted by workplace violence, burnout, and systemic failures within healthcare culture.

Through her upcoming memoir, Frontline Survivor, Tammy shares a story of resilience, healing, identity, and reclaiming life after trauma. Her work encourages others to move beyond survival and rediscover their strength, purpose, and voice, even after unimaginable adversity.

Tammy is the founder of The Nightingale Front, a developing nonprofit foundation dedicated to raising awareness about violence against healthcare professionals, advocating for safer working conditions, supporting those impacted by workplace trauma and burnout, and fostering healing through advocacy, empowerment, and community.

Today, Tammy uses her voice through speaking, writing, coaching, and advocacy initiatives to inspire meaningful change within healthcare culture while reminding others that trauma does not have to be the end of the story; it can become the beginning of something greater.
